Odense Hans Christian Andersen Airport is the main airport on Funen, serving Odense and the surrounding region of central Denmark. Opened in the 1940s as a military airfield and later transferred to civilian use, it was renamed in honour of the city's famous fairy-tale author, Hans Christian Andersen.
Located north of Odense near Beldringe, roughly 10 km from the city centre, the airport today focuses on general aviation, business aviation, flight training, cargo and charter traffic. It also hosts drone and unmanned aircraft testing, making it a distinctive hub for aviation research and regional business travel.
