Ngala Airport (NGL) is a private safari airstrip located within the Ngala Private Game Reserve in the Timbavati area of South Africa's Greater Kruger region. It primarily serves guests travelling to Ngala Safari Lodge and Ngala Tented Camp, both operated by andBeyond.
The airstrip has a single runway and is used mainly by Airlink's Lodge Link service, which connects the reserve with Johannesburg and Nelspruit Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport. Charter and light aircraft also operate here, making it a small, purpose-built arrival point rather than a full commercial airport.
Set in the Lowveld of Limpopo near the Kruger National Park boundary, the airstrip places arriving guests just a short drive from the lodges. The nearest town, Hoedspruit, lies roughly 30 km away, with road transfers typically taking 45 to 60 minutes.
Because of its remote safari setting, terminal services at Ngala are limited, but the airstrip plays a practical role by providing fast, direct air access for lodge guests and safari travellers.
