Nacala International Airport serves the port city of Nacala and Mozambique's northern Nampula Province. Opened in 2014 after the redevelopment of a former military airfield, the airport supports domestic and regional international travel from one of the country's main northern gateways.
Located around 9 km from central Nacala, the airport connects passengers to domestic destinations such as Maputo and Pemba, and to regional routes including Johannesburg, Nairobi and Dar es Salaam. Its passenger terminal covers about 15,000 square metres, with check-in counters, immigration desks, lounges and commercial areas.
