Mostaganem Airport is a small civilian airport serving Mostaganem and Mostaganem Province on Algeria's northwestern Mediterranean coast. The site was used during World War II as Matemore Airfield, and the current civil infrastructure was built in 1959, originally supporting agricultural and firefighting operations.
The airport has no scheduled commercial passenger service and is used mainly for general aviation and non-scheduled operations. It lies roughly 7 km from central Mostaganem, close to the Mediterranean coast and about 280 km west-southwest of Algiers. For scheduled flights, travelers generally use Oran's Ahmed Ben Bella Airport, around 77 km away.
Since 2017, rehabilitation and extension work has been carried out on the airfield, including the runway and supporting infrastructure, with the aim of supporting regional flights and freight operations in the future.
Access is by road from Mostaganem and nearby towns such as Sayada. Because operations are limited, travelers should confirm flight and service arrangements in advance.
