About Merrill Municipal Airport
Merrill Municipal Airport is the public-use general aviation airport serving Merrill and Lincoln County in north-central Wisconsin. It opened in 1938 and is owned and operated by the City of Merrill.
Located about one mile northwest of downtown Merrill, the airport supports private, business and recreational flying with two asphalt runways. The main runway, 7/25, is 5,101 feet long, and the crosswind runway, 16/34, is 2,997 feet long.
The airport is served by an on-site FBO with a passenger terminal and lounge, aviation fuel, aircraft parking, hangars and maintenance services. A new terminal building was completed in 2014 as part of airport improvements.
Road access connects the airport to Merrill and nearby communities including Wausau and Tomahawk, with taxis, private transfers, chauffeur services and rental cars available for onward travel throughout the Wisconsin Northwoods.
