The airport was formerly known as Manuel Prado Ugarteche Airport and was renamed in honor of Nancy Flores Páucar, a National Police officer and pilot killed in action. Today it operates as a small domestic facility with scheduled commercial service provided by Atsa Airlines on the Lima route.
Located about 1 km northwest of Mazamari town and roughly 14 km from Satipo, the airport is reached by road. Taxis and private transfers provide onward connections to Mazamari, Satipo and nearby towns across the region.
