About Marka International Airport
Amman Civil Airport, commonly known as Marka International Airport and more recently operating as Amman City Airport, is Jordan's oldest airport and a compact gateway to the capital. It served as the country's main international airport until Queen Alia International Airport opened in 1983, and today focuses on charter, private, government, training and selected scheduled flights.
Located in the Marka district about 5 km northeast of central Amman, the airport operates a single passenger terminal with check-in, security, arrivals and facilities in one building. Its compact layout and shorter processing times make it a convenient option for regional and private travel.
