Maharishi Valmiki International Airport Ayodhya Dham is the main airport serving Ayodhya and the surrounding Uttar Pradesh region. Inaugurated on 30 December 2023, the airport was developed at the site of the former Faizabad airstrip to improve air access for pilgrims and other travelers visiting the Ram Janmabhoomi complex and nearby heritage sites.
The airport currently operates through a single integrated terminal with a peak-hour capacity of around 300 passengers. Domestic services connect Ayodhya with major Indian cities, while the airport is designated to support international operations as traffic develops.
Located near Naka in Faizabad district, approximately 10 km from the Ayodhya city centre, the airport is reached by taxis, app-based cabs, auto-rickshaws, and public buses. Ayodhya Cantt and Ayodhya Dham Junction railway stations are also within a short driving distance.
