About Maharana Pratap Airport
Maharana Pratap Airport is the main domestic airport serving Udaipur and the surrounding Mewar region of Rajasthan. Formerly known as Dabok Airport, it was renamed in 2005 in honour of the 16th-century ruler Maharana Pratap, and its current passenger terminal opened in 2008. The airport is operated by the Airports Authority of India and connects Udaipur with major Indian cities through carriers including IndiGo, Air India, Vistara and Alliance Air. Located at Dabok, around 22 km east of central Udaipur, the airport is reached mainly by pre-paid taxis, app-based cabs and state-run buses on the Udaipur–Chittorgarh route. Its single integrated terminal handles both arrivals and departures in a compact two-level layout, making it relatively easy to navigate for leisure and business travellers. As the gateway to the City of Lakes, the airport serves popular destinations such as Lake Pichola, the City Palace and nearby heritage, resort and wedding venues. A larger integrated terminal is under development to increase capacity, while the existing terminal continues to provide essential passenger facilities, dining, shopping and onward travel connections.
