About Maharaja Agrasen International Airport
Maharaja Agrasen International Airport is a public airport serving Hisar in Haryana and a key part of the region's expanding air connectivity. The airfield was established in 1967 and has since been developed in phases, receiving DGCA licensing in 2018 before resuming scheduled domestic flights under the UDAN regional connectivity scheme.
Located about 5 km northeast of Hisar city centre along NH-9, the airport currently handles domestic services and is being upgraded with a larger integrated terminal, cargo facilities and a new air traffic control complex. Scheduled flights connect Hisar with destinations such as Delhi, Ayodhya and Chandigarh, with further routes serving Jaipur, Ahmedabad and Jammu.
Travellers can reach the airport by road and continue to Hisar and nearby areas by taxi or pre-arranged transfer, with NH-9 providing the main link. The airport functions as a growing regional gateway for Haryana and nearby parts of northern India.
With a waiting lounge, basic dining options and essential passenger services already available, and additional lounges, retail and duty-free facilities planned, the airport is being developed to support greater passenger convenience as its operations expand.
