It is located in Lapu-Lapu City on Mactan Island and handles a large share of the country's domestic and international air traffic.
The airport operates through two passenger terminals. Terminal 1 serves domestic flights, while Terminal 2, which opened in 2018, handles international flights and introduced a larger, resort-inspired terminal building with expanded passenger facilities.
The airport sits about 16 km from central Cebu City and is connected to the city by road bridges across the Mactan Channel. Travelers can reach Cebu City and Mactan's resort areas by taxi, MyBus, private transfer, chauffeur service or rental car.
