About Luxembourg-Findel International Airport
Luxembourg-Findel International Airport is the only international passenger airport in Luxembourg and the main gateway to Luxembourg City and the Grand Duchy. It serves both business and leisure travellers and is also one of Europe's leading cargo hubs, with extensive freighter operations.
The site opened in the 1930s as a small grass airfield known as Sandweiler Airport. Today's main Terminal A was inaugurated in May 2008, and the smaller Terminal B, linked to Terminal A by a covered footbridge, was renovated and reopened in July 2017 for regional flights on smaller aircraft.
Located around 6 km northeast of central Luxembourg City in Findel, the airport is within easy reach of the capital by bus, the tram connection, taxis, private transfers and road links. Luxembourg's nationwide free public transport makes onward travel to the city and the rest of the country particularly convenient.
