Lifuka Island Airport is the main air gateway to the Ha'apai island group and serves the administrative centre of Pangai on Lifuka Island. As a regional domestic airport, it connects Ha'apai with Tongatapu and Vava'u through scheduled services operated by Lulutai Airlines.
The airport lies about 5 km (3 mi) north of Pangai and features a single bitumen runway of around 1,200 metres. Its compact terminal handles domestic arrivals and departures, with check-in, a café and basic waiting facilities inside the building.
Taxis serve the airport, and the short road connection makes Pangai and nearby wharfs easy to reach for onward boat travel to other islands in the group. Because the airport has no runway lighting, flights are generally scheduled during daylight hours.
