Lesobeng Airport (LES)

Lesobeng Airport is a small public airstrip serving the remote community of Lesobeng in the Thaba-Tseka District of Lesotho. Set at an elevation of roughly 2,174 metres, it provides an important access point for a mountainous part of the country where road journeys can be long and challenging.

The airport has a single gravel runway, designated 03/21, which is about 530 metres long. It primarily supports general and community aviation rather than scheduled commercial airline traffic, and its compact terminal building offers only basic passenger facilities.

Lesobeng Airport lies approximately 100 km southeast of Maseru, the capital of Lesotho. Road connections to the capital typically use the A3 route, with travel by car taking around three hours depending on weather and mountain road conditions.

For travellers heading to or from the central highlands, the airstrip offers a useful link, but most onward journeys require advance planning for road transport, since local public transport and airport services are limited.
