Lecce Galatina Airport (LCC) is a military airfield in Apulia, southern Italy, best known as the home of the Italian Air Force's 61st Wing and its flight training school. The base was established on 31 March 1931 and named in 1938 after Fortunato Cesari, a pilot born in nearby Galatina.
Located about 15 km southwest of Lecce city centre and close to the town of Galatina, the airport has a single asphalt runway and is used mainly for military training flights. It does not offer scheduled commercial passenger services, and civilian or private flights are allowed only with special authorization.
For travelers, the base functions mainly as an arrival point for authorized flights, with Lecce, Galatina and the Salento coast reached by private transfer, taxi or rental car. For scheduled commercial flights, travelers generally use Brindisi Salento Airport (BDS), the closest major passenger airport to Lecce.
Despite its restricted civilian access, the airfield plays a key role in Salento and Italian military aviation, training Italian and international student pilots. Its limited public facilities mean most passenger services and onward travel options are concentrated in Lecce and Galatina.
