About Larnaca International Airport
Larnaca International Airport is the main international gateway to Cyprus and the larger of the island's two commercial airports. Located about 4 km southwest of Larnaca, it serves travelers heading to the city, nearby coastal resorts, Limassol and Nicosia.
The airport was developed after the closure of Nicosia Airport and grew into Cyprus's primary hub for European and Middle Eastern connections. The current terminal, inaugurated in 2009, replaced older facilities and brings arrivals and departures together in a single modern building.
The terminal is organized with arrivals on the ground floor and departures on the upper levels, keeping walking distances short and passenger flow straightforward.
The airport is connected by road to Larnaca and major routes across Cyprus, with buses, taxis and car rental available; there is no rail link. Transfer to Larnaca city centre normally takes around 10–15 minutes, making onward travel convenient.
