Lafayette Regional Airport is the primary commercial airport serving Lafayette and the Acadiana region of South Louisiana. The airport opened in 1930 and completed a major modernization with a new 120,000-square-foot passenger terminal that opened in January 2022, roughly twice the size of the facility it replaced.
Located about two miles southeast of downtown Lafayette, LFT provides daily domestic connections through American Airlines to Dallas and Charlotte, Delta Air Lines to Atlanta, and United Airlines to Houston, with onward links across the United States and internationally. Its five gates, all with jet bridges, support a steady schedule of regional and connecting flights.
The airport covers 1,116 acres and operates three runways. Ground transportation includes taxis, ride-hailing services, rental cars, private transfers, and nearby road links to US 90 and Interstate 10, making it easy to reach Lafayette's city center and surrounding communities.
