Located on the Roomassaare peninsula about 3 km from central Kuressaare, the airport has a compact single-terminal layout. The present terminal building dates from 1962 and was modernized in 2007, with the main runway later extended and a second runway added in 1976.
The airport is reached by local bus lines 1, 2 and 12-3, as well as taxi, private transfer and car, with an unattended parking area directly in front of the terminal. Its short distance to the town makes onward travel to hotels, spas and coastal destinations straightforward.
