Kukës International Airport Zayed is the main airport serving Kukës and northeastern Albania, close to the Kosovo border. Opened to international traffic in July 2021, it operates as a compact low-cost gateway following a full reconstruction of the original airfield.
Located about 3.5 km south of central Kukës near the village of Shtiqën, the airport serves travelers heading to the Albanian Alps, the Korab mountain area and nearby Kosovo, including Prizren about 40 km away. Its single terminal is designed to handle small and medium-sized aircraft.
The airport is reached by taxi or private transfer, with car rental available on site. There is no direct public transport link to the airport, but frequent buses run from central Kukës to Tirana, with onward connections to Shkodër and Durrës also available from the town.
