Kokand Airport (OQN)

Kokand Airport is a regional airport serving Kokand, a major city in Uzbekistan's Fergana Region. Originally built in 1977, the airport later stopped handling civil flights in 2001 and was used mainly by the air force. Following reconstruction, it reopened to civil aviation in 2024 with a new passenger terminal designed for around 100 passengers and a runway extended to 2,000 metres. Located about 10 km from central Kokand, the airport currently supports domestic connections to Tashkent operated by Silk Avia, making it a practical gateway to the Fergana Valley and nearby towns. Its renewed facilities allow it to handle aircraft such as the A320-200 and ATR 72-600. Ground access to the city centre is available by taxi, shared marshrutkas and local buses, with the short road journey from Kokand typically taking around 15 to 20 minutes depending on traffic. The airport gives travelers a convenient regional option for reaching Kokand and the surrounding Fergana Valley, with a compact terminal and onward transport links for continuing journeys.
