Kamalpur Airport is a small airport serving Kamalpur, a town in the Dhalai district of Tripura in north-eastern India. It is managed by the Airports Authority of India and is currently non-operational for scheduled commercial flights.
The airport occupies an area of approximately 61 acres and has a single asphalt runway, designated 01/19, measuring about 1,372 metres. It is located close to Kamalpur town, roughly 93 km from the state capital, Agartala.
Kamalpur Airport has a long regional history: the airfield was in use until around 1960, and Vayudoot operated flights connecting Kamalpur with Agartala during the 1990s. Plans have been discussed to upgrade the airport for smaller aircraft such as ATR-42 or ATR-72 operations.
Today the airport is reached mainly by road, with connections through Ambassa and other parts of Dhalai district. Because scheduled services are not currently active, travellers in the region typically use Agartala's Maharaja Bir Bikram Airport for air travel and continue to Kamalpur by car or bus.
