Kaghau Airport (KGE)

Kaghau Airport is a small domestic airstrip serving Kaghau Island in the Choiseul Province of the Solomon Islands. It provides a remote-air service link used mainly by light aircraft connecting the island with Honiara and other provincial centres.

Located about 2 km from the island's main settlement, the airport has a single unpaved runway of roughly 740 metres with a sand, grass and coral surface. Operations are limited to daylight hours and to short-field aircraft suited to the strip.

Facilities are intentionally simple, with an open-air waiting shelter rather than a full terminal and no shops or cafés. Passengers should confirm flights in advance, as weather can affect the small out-island schedule.

Onward travel is by foot, local vehicle or boat, since there is no road network linking the airport to larger centres. The airstrip remains an important connection for communities and travellers moving between Kaghau Island and the rest of the country.
