About Brasília International Airport
Brasília International Airport is the main gateway serving Brasília and Brazil's Federal District. It was inaugurated on 3 May 1957 with one of the country's first international commercial flights and has since developed into a major hub connecting destinations across Brazil and abroad.
The airport is located about 11 km south of central Brasília's Plano Piloto. Its passenger terminal is organized around two piers — the North Pier for most domestic flights and the South Pier for international and some domestic services — with check-in, baggage claim and the main security checkpoint in the central area.
BSB is connected to the city by the Green Line metro, whose Aeroporto Station is integrated into the terminal, along with executive buses, taxis, ride-hailing services and car rental counters in the arrivals hall. These links make it relatively easy to reach the hotel sectors, government buildings and business districts of the capital.
With modern passenger facilities, shopping, dining, lounges and onward transport options, the airport functions as an important gateway for business and leisure travellers visiting Brazil's capital region.
