Jorhat Airport, also known as Rowriah Airport, is a domestic airport serving Jorhat and Golaghat in Assam, India. Located at Rowriah about 7 km southwest of Jorhat city, it functions as a civil enclave within an Indian Air Force station and connects the upper Assam region with domestic destinations.
The airport's origins date back to 1939, when it was established by the Royal Air Force on land from the Rowriah Tea Estate. It was later repurposed as an eastern airbase for the Indian Air Force in 1952, with commercial civil operations beginning in the early 1950s.
Today the airport operates through a single integrated terminal for domestic flights, with services linking Jorhat to cities including Kolkata and Guwahati. Its modest size makes check-in, security and baggage collection relatively straightforward for passengers.
