About Jorge Chávez International Airport
Jorge Chávez International Airport is the main international airport serving Lima and the surrounding Callao region, and it is Peru's principal aviation hub for domestic and international travel. The current terminal, known as Nuevo Jorge Chávez, opened on 1 June 2025 and replaced the older terminal that had served the airport on Elmer Faucett Avenue since 1965.
Located in Callao, around 11 km from central Lima and roughly 17 km from the Miraflores and San Isidro districts, the airport connects travelers to domestic destinations across Peru and to major cities in the Americas and Europe. It functions as a key hub for flights to Cusco, Arequipa and other regional centers.
The new single passenger terminal organizes departures on level 3 and arrivals on level 1, with separate boarding lounges for domestic and international flights and modern check-in and security facilities.
The airport is reached from Morales Duárez Avenue by taxi, private vehicle, public transport and the AeroDirecto bus, with onward connections to central Lima, Miraflores, San Isidro and surrounding areas.
