About John H. Batten Airport

John H. Batten Airport, also known as Batten International Airport, is a privately owned, public-use airport serving Racine and southeastern Wisconsin. Founded in 1941 by Carlyle Godske, it functions primarily as a general aviation and business aviation gateway rather than a scheduled commercial passenger airport.

Located about 2 miles northwest of downtown Racine, near the Lake Michigan shoreline, the airport sits between Milwaukee and Kenosha. It operates two runways, with the longer runway supporting instrument approaches and larger general aviation aircraft.

The airport is a U.S. Customs Port of Entry, making it convenient for private international flights. Ground access to downtown Racine is a short drive, while Milwaukee is roughly 12 miles north and Kenosha roughly 11 miles southwest by road.

Passenger facilities include pilot and passenger lounges, flight planning services with weather information, a conference room, Wi-Fi, car rental, catering, deicing and fuel services, providing practical support for private and business travelers using the airport.
