About Jodhpur Airport
Jodhpur Airport is the main airport serving Jodhpur, the second-largest city in Rajasthan and a major gateway to the state's western region. It is a domestic airport and Indian Air Force base operated by the Airports Authority of India, sharing its airside with the Jodhpur Air Force Station.
The airfield's origins date back to the 1920s, when the Jodhpur Flying Club was established by Maharaja Umaid Singh. Civil operations were formalised over time, and in July 2026 a new terminal building opened with 20 check-in counters, upgraded security screening, modern baggage handling and six aerobridges.
Located approximately 5 km from the city centre, the airport provides convenient access to Jodhpur's historic attractions, including Mehrangarh Fort, Umaid Bhawan Palace and Jaswant Thada. Travelers can continue their journey by taxi, bus, rental car or private transfer.
With dining, shopping, free Wi-Fi, ATMs and accessibility services, the airport offers practical facilities for both leisure and business travelers arriving in or departing from the Blue City.
