Jaisalmer Airport is a small domestic airport serving Jaisalmer, the historic Golden City in western Rajasthan. Located roughly 13 km from the city centre, it acts as the region's air gateway for travellers visiting Jaisalmer Fort, the Thar Desert and nearby attractions.
The airport is operated by the Airports Authority of India. A new passenger terminal was completed in 2013, and civil flight operations have since provided connections to cities such as Delhi, Jaipur and Mumbai, though schedules can be seasonal and limited.
The single-terminal airport is reached mainly by prepaid taxi, with a taxi booth outside the arrivals area, as well as by private car or local bus. Travel to the city centre and Jaisalmer Fort typically takes around 20–30 minutes under normal traffic conditions.
Inside, passengers will find a compact terminal with basic amenities including cafés, restaurants, shops, ATMs, free Wi-Fi, an information desk and wheelchair assistance. Its small size keeps navigation simple and makes it a convenient entry point for the Jaisalmer region.
