This public-use general aviation airport serves Peru, LaSalle County and the wider Illinois River Valley. Opened in November 1985, it is owned by the City of Peru and supports private, business, recreational and charter flying rather than scheduled airline service.
The airport sits about one mile from central Peru and near the intersection of Interstates 80 and 39, making it convenient for north-central Illinois. It has two lighted, paved runways: a 6,000-by-100-foot primary runway that handles business jets and a 4,000-by-75-foot crosswind runway, with GPS and localizer approaches.
Midwest Aero, Inc., the on-site fixed-base operator, provides Jet A and Avgas fuel, aircraft maintenance and servicing, and short-term or long-term hangar space. Travelers also have access to an on-site meeting room, charter flight coordination, and nearby hotels, restaurants and car rental services.
