About Hindon Airport
Hindon Airport is a domestic civil enclave serving Ghaziabad, eastern Delhi, Noida and other parts of the National Capital Region. It is located within the Hindon Air Force Station complex near Sikandarpur in Sahibabad and operates primarily under the government's UDAN regional connectivity scheme.
The civil terminal opened to commercial operations in 2019 as an alternative to Delhi's busier Indira Gandhi International Airport. Its single air-conditioned terminal building is designed to handle moderate passenger volumes, with check-in counters, security screening, baggage claim and basic passenger facilities arranged in a compact layout.
The airport is about 10 km from Ghaziabad city centre and roughly 20–25 km from central Delhi. It is accessible by road via NH-9, the Delhi–Meerut Expressway and the Hindon Elevated Road, with buses, cabs and nearby metro connections available for onward travel.
With regional flights to cities across India and quicker check-in and security procedures, Hindon Airport functions as a convenient domestic gateway for travelers in western Uttar Pradesh and the eastern part of the Delhi NCR.
