About Hawthorne Industrial Airport
Hawthorne Industrial Airport is a county-owned, public-use general aviation airport serving the town of Hawthorne and Mineral County in west-central Nevada. The airport was activated in 1937 and was formerly known as Hawthorne Municipal Airport.
Located about one mile north of central Hawthorne along US-95, the airport supports private, business and recreational flying in the Walker Lake area. It has a single paved runway, 10/28, measuring 6,000 feet, as well as a dirt runway, and serves mostly general aviation traffic.
The airport provides aviation fuel, aircraft parking and tiedowns, a passenger lounge, weather reporting and ground services for pilots. There is no scheduled commercial airline service or control tower at the field.
Hawthorne sits roughly 100 miles southeast of Reno, and the airport is within easy reach of Walker Lake and the town's hotels and services by private transfer, taxi or rental car.
