About Hamar Airport, Stafsberg
Hamar Airport, Stafsberg is a municipal general aviation airfield on the north side of Hamar in Innlandet, eastern Norway. It opened in 1950 on the former Stafsberg military training ground and has long served as the local base for light aircraft, flying clubs and flight training in the Lake Mjøsa area.
In 1985 the airfield was refurbished with a new control tower and terminal building, and for a short period in the late 1980s Widerøe operated scheduled services to Oslo, Bergen and Trondheim. Today the airport focuses on general aviation, with an asphalt runway aligned 15–33 and facilities used by local aviation organisations, flight schools and skydiving groups.
The airport sits about 3 kilometres north of central Hamar, close to the E6 and the eastern shore of Lake Mjøsa. Road connections make it easy to reach the city centre, Lillehammer and the surrounding Hedmarken region by car, taxi, private transfer or pre-booked ground transportation.
Although it is not a commercial airline hub, Hamar Airport, Stafsberg provides an accessible entry point for private pilots and general aviation visitors to the Hamar and Mjøsa region, with basic terminal facilities and convenient onward travel options.
