Hacaritama Airport (HAY)

Hacaritama Airport is the national airport serving Aguachica, the second-largest city in Colombia's Cesar Department, and the wider Magdalena Medio region. It is a small regional gateway used primarily for domestic flights and plays an important role in connecting the south of Cesar with the rest of the country.

The airport has a single asphalt runway of about 1,200 metres and a compact terminal with a control tower. SATENA currently operates scheduled routes linking Aguachica with Bogotá and Barranquilla, supporting residents and travelers in Cesar, southern Bolívar and Norte de Santander.

Located approximately 7 kilometres south of Aguachica, the airport is reached by road via the Troncal del Magdalena and local transport. The journey to the city centre normally takes a short drive, with taxis and private transfers available at the terminal.

Passenger facilities remain modest, with a small waiting room, café, restrooms and an open-air waiting area that has become locally well known. Authorities have announced investments to build a new terminal, fire and rescue station and improved access road, which are expected to expand capacity and comfort for travelers.
