Fès–Saïss International Airport is the main international airport serving Fes and the surrounding Fès-Meknès region of northern Morocco. Inaugurated in 1960, it links the city to domestic destinations and a growing network of European routes.
Located about 12 km south of central Fes, the airport acts as a compact gateway to the old medina and nearby cities such as Meknes and Ifrane. Its modern passenger terminal, opened in 2017, replaced the earlier terminal and increased the airport's capacity.
There is no railway station at the airport itself. Travelers reach the city by taxi, the local bus 16 to Fes railway station, rental cars or pre-arranged transfers, with the drive to the centre typically taking around 20 to 35 minutes.
With cafés, shops, prayer rooms and car rental services, the airport offers a practical arrival point for visitors exploring the imperial cities and the Middle Atlas.
