Falcone–Borsellino Airport is the main international airport serving Palermo and the western part of Sicily. Originally known as Punta Raisi, it opened to the public in 1960 and was later renamed in honour of judges Giovanni Falcone and Paolo Borsellino.
Located approximately 35 km west of central Palermo, the airport connects Sicily's capital with domestic and international destinations and serves both leisure and business travellers. Its single passenger terminal handles arrivals on the ground level, check-in on the first floor, and security and boarding on the second floor.
The airport is connected to Palermo by the Trinacria Express rail service, direct buses, taxis, private transfers, car rental and the A29 motorway, making onward travel to the city centre and western Sicily relatively straightforward.
