Fábio Perini Airport is a small private airport serving Boipeba island and the municipality of Cairu on Bahia's Costa do Dendê. Located on the Fazenda Pontal peninsula, it opened to scheduled passenger flights in December 2023 when Abaeté Linhas Aéreas began a direct service from Salvador.
The airport has a single runway of about 1,270 metres and a compact passenger terminal. It is around 10 km from downtown Cairu and about 2 km from the village of Velha Boipeba, so arrivals usually continue by boat to the island's villages and beaches.
Because Boipeba is car-free and reached mainly by boat, the airport is an important air gateway that reduces travel time from the state capital. From Velha Boipeba, travellers can reach nearby beaches such as Boca da Barra, Moreré and Bainema, or connect onward to Morro de São Paulo and other destinations in the Tinharé archipelago.
The small terminal offers essential passenger services including an information counter and baggage claim, while restaurants, pousadas and local transport are found in Velha Boipeba and surrounding villages.
