Essaouira-Mogador Airport is the main air gateway serving Essaouira and the surrounding Atlantic coast of Morocco. Its current terminal opened in 2010, replacing a much smaller facility and increasing the airport's capacity to around 300,000 passengers a year.
Located about 16 km southeast of the city centre, the airport mainly handles international flights and provides convenient access to Essaouira's historic medina, beaches and coastal resorts. The modern terminal brings together check-in, security, arrivals and boarding areas in a single compact building.
The airport is connected to Essaouira by road, with taxis, private transfers and rental cars providing the main onward travel options, and the journey to the medina typically takes around 20 to 25 minutes.
