El Fasher Airport (ELF) is the main air gateway to the city of El Fasher and the wider North Darfur region in western Sudan. It supports domestic flights, primarily to Khartoum, as well as humanitarian and peacekeeping operations serving Darfur.
Located about 5 km from the city centre, the airport has a single passenger terminal and two runways: a 2,970-metre asphalt runway and a shorter gravel runway. Airlines including Badr Airlines, Nova Airways, Sudan Airways and Tarco Aviation use the airport for connections to Khartoum and Nyala.
The airport is typically reached by taxi, private transfer or infrequent local bus services, since there is no rail connection. Road transport is therefore the main option for continuing into central El Fasher and the surrounding area.
Passenger facilities are limited but functional, with basic food and shopping options, so travellers are advised to arrange transport in advance and carry local currency.
