Located in Barangay San Isidro in the municipality of San Luis, roughly 7 kilometers from Baler town, it is the primary air gateway to the region known as the birthplace of Philippine surfing.
The airport is named after Juan Calderón Angara and received its first commercial flight in early 2006. Classified as a community airport by the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines, it handles domestic and charter flights through a single, modest terminal designed for small regional aircraft.
