Djibo Airport (XDJ)

Djibo Airport is a small airfield serving the town of Djibo in Soum Province, within the Sahel Region of northern Burkina Faso. Its single runway and basic infrastructure support mainly humanitarian, government and charter flights, reflecting the area's limited road access and security constraints.

The airport is located about 3 km north of Djibo town and roughly 205 km north of the capital, Ouagadougou. Because scheduled commercial passenger services do not currently operate at Djibo, most traffic is organized through aid agencies, charter operators and government missions.

The runway is approximately 1,190 metres long with a dirt surface, suitable for smaller aircraft. Facilities remain basic, with no large terminal complex, so travelers and crew are advised to coordinate ground arrangements and carry essential supplies in advance.

Despite its limited infrastructure, the airfield plays an important role in keeping Djibo and surrounding communities connected when road travel is difficult or unsafe. Access is tightly controlled and is best arranged through the organization or operator managing each flight.
