Dix-Sept Rosado Airport is the main airport serving Mossoró, the second-largest city in Rio Grande do Norte, and the wider western Potiguar region. The airfield was established in the 1940s and the airport was named in 1953 after Jerônimo Dix-Sept Rosado Maia, a former mayor of Mossoró and governor of Rio Grande do Norte.
Located about 2 km from downtown Mossoró, the airport sits close to the city centre and offers straightforward road access for arriving and departing passengers. It operates from a single passenger terminal that combines check-in, security, boarding and baggage claim areas in one compact facility.
Infraero took over the airport's operation and administration in December 2022, and recent works have included runway, taxiway and terminal improvements. The airport has served regional commercial flights and continues to support general aviation, business and charter traffic.
