About Coari Airport
Coari Airport (CIZ) is a small domestic airport serving the city of Coari in the Brazilian state of Amazonas. Situated close to the Solimões River, it connects the municipality with regional destinations and plays an important role for residents, workers and visitors travelling in this part of the Amazon.
Located about 5 km south of the centre of Coari, the airport serves domestic commercial flights as well as general aviation. Its single runway and compact passenger terminal support regular regional services, most notably connections to Manaus, the capital of Amazonas.
The airport is administered by the municipality and has been the subject of ongoing improvement projects, including runway reconstruction and plans for an expanded passenger terminal. These works aim to improve safety and capacity for regional air travel.
Road access allows short taxi, moto-taxi and private transfer journeys between the airport and central Coari, including the city's river port area. With basic passenger facilities and its position as the main air gateway for the region, Coari Airport remains a key link for travel across the western Amazon.
