About Cruzeiro do Sul International Airport
Cruzeiro do Sul International Airport serves Cruzeiro do Sul, the second most populous city in Acre and an important economic centre in Brazil's western Amazon. Inaugurated in 1970 and opened to public traffic in 1976, the airport has become a key air link for the Juruá River region.
As Brazil's westernmost airport, it connects western Acre with the state capital Rio Branco and other cities in the Amazon region. The airport primarily handles domestic and regional flights and plays an important role in supplying the city and surrounding communities.
Located around 15 km from central Cruzeiro do Sul, the airport is reached mainly by taxi and road transport. A modern passenger terminal opened in 2009, and since January 2022 the airport has been managed by VINCI Airports under a 30-year concession.
Despite its compact size, the airport provides essential passenger services, parking and onward travel options, making it the main gateway for visitors heading to the Juruá region and nearby attractions such as the Serra do Divisor National Park.
