About Corazón de Jesús Airport
Corazón de Jesús Airport is a small public airstrip serving Corazón de Jesús and Narganá, two island communities in the Guna Yala comarca on Panama's Caribbean coast. It provides an important air link between the San Blas archipelago and the rest of the country.
The airstrip sits on a separate small island about 0.5 km east of Corazón de Jesús island and is reached by a short ferry or boat ride. Its single asphalt runway is used mainly for short take-off and landing flights connecting to Panama City, operated by Air Panama from Albrook Marcos A. Gelabert International Airport.
Passenger facilities are intentionally basic, with shelters near the runway and docks rather than a large terminal. Because there are no roads connecting the airstrip to nearby islands, onward travel is by boat to island lodges, the communities of Corazón de Jesús and Narganá, and sailing charter meeting points.
For the Guna communities, the airport is a practical lifeline for travel, supplies and emergency access, while for visitors it is the main entry point to the turquoise waters and islands of the San Blas region.
