About Comodoro Arturo Merino Benítez International Airport
Comodoro Arturo Merino Benítez International Airport is Chile's main international airport, serving Santiago and the surrounding Metropolitan Region. Opened on 9 February 1967 as Aeropuerto Pudahuel, it was later renamed in honour of aviation pioneer Comodoro Arturo Merino Benítez.
Located in the Pudahuel district, about 15 km northwest of central Santiago, the airport handles domestic and international flights and serves both leisure and business travellers. Its terminal infrastructure includes Terminal 1 for domestic services and the newer international Terminal 2, opened in 2022, with connecting passenger areas.
