Commander in Chief of FALINTIL, Kay Rala Xanana Gusmão, International Airport, commonly known as Suai Airport, serves the town of Suai and the Covalima municipality on Timor-Leste's southern coast. Opened in 2017, it supports domestic connectivity and was developed to serve the Tasi Mane south coast development area.
Located a few kilometres east of Suai town, the airport has a single passenger terminal and a 1,500-metre runway. It mainly handles domestic flights to and from Dili, while also supporting medevac, petroleum-industry and occasional international flights.
Road access connects the airport to Suai town and onward destinations, with taxis, motorbike taxis and pre-arranged private transfers among the main ways to continue a journey. Dili, the national capital, is around 88 km away by road.
