Comiso Airport is the main airport serving south-eastern Sicily and the province of Ragusa. Opened to commercial traffic in 2013, it operates from a former military airfield in the town of Comiso and is named after Pio La Torre, while also being known as Vincenzo Magliocco Airport. The airport is located about 5 km from Comiso town centre and roughly 19 km from Ragusa. It provides domestic and international connections, with regular services to mainland Italy as well as seasonal and year-round European routes serving travellers to the Baroque towns and coastal areas of the region. A single passenger terminal houses check-in and arrivals on the ground floor and departures and gates on the upper level.
