About Comandante Gustavo Kraemer Airport
Comandante Gustavo Kraemer Airport is the airport serving Bagé, a city in the Campanha Gaúcha region of southern Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. Opened in 1946, it has grown from a small wooden terminal into a compact regional airport managed since 2022 by CCR Aeroportos.
The airport is named in honour of Gustavo Kraemer, founder of the former airline SAVAG, and is located about 9 km south of downtown Bagé. It has a single passenger terminal of roughly 450 m² and a 1,500-metre runway, handling domestic flights that connect the region with Porto Alegre through Azul Conecta.
Because of its central position in southern Rio Grande do Sul, the airport has also been used for international general aviation operations, particularly traffic arriving from Uruguay and Argentina. Its international designation dates from 2001.
Travelers can reach Bagé by taxi on request or by private transfer, while car rental, restaurants and banking services are available in the city centre. The small terminal and easy road access make the airport a practical gateway to Bagé and the wider Campanha Gaúcha region.
