About Calbayog Airport
Calbayog Airport is a domestic airport serving Calbayog City and the broader province of Samar in the Philippines. It provides scheduled connections to Manila and Cebu and functions as a gateway to the Eastern Visayas region, including the natural attractions of Samar.
A new passenger terminal building was inaugurated on May 5, 2021, expanding passenger capacity from 76 to 450 and giving the airport a modern, air-conditioned facility with improved check-in, waiting, and baggage areas. The runway was also extended to around 2,100 meters to support larger aircraft operations.
The airport is located roughly 6 to 7 kilometres from Calbayog city centre, with tricycles, taxis, and vans readily available outside the terminal for transfers into the city and nearby municipalities.
With its upgraded terminal and improved infrastructure, the airport serves as a practical entry point for travellers visiting Samar, including those heading to the city's waterfalls, caves, and surrounding coastal and rural destinations.
