Brindisi Airport is the main airport serving the city of Brindisi and the Salento peninsula in southern Puglia. Also known as Salento Airport and Brindisi Papola Casale Airport, it is the region's principal gateway for domestic and international flights and a focus hub for Ryanair.
Located about 6 km from Brindisi city centre in the Contrada Baroncino area, the airport connects travellers to popular destinations across Puglia, including Lecce, Ostuni, Gallipoli, Otranto and Taranto. It began as a military airbase in the 1920s, launched commercial flights to Rome in the 1930s, and was officially converted to civilian use in 2008.
The airport has one passenger terminal arranged over two levels with separate arrivals and departures areas and 13 boarding gates. Inside, passengers can find shops, restaurants, bars, ATMs, free Wi-Fi, a Sala Amica lounge, fast track access and assistance for passengers with reduced mobility.
